They definately have addressed some of the concerns in the recent AMA. For the price of entry and what it includes at launch I would recommend it if you are into the graphic style and MMO's. The dev as small as they are also made this work on PSVR, Oculus 2, Oculus 2 and PCVR. While it does not look as good of course as the latest MMO's it does look well enough especially on Quest 2. I have played a lot of MMO's going back to Everquest and all the most recent MMO's. With that said, what they have accomplished is pretty impressive. Yes, the game is made by a small dev team and of course like any game there are some issues and things that could be better. I don't know what Oculus' refund policy is, but Steam lets you refund games as long as you're under 2 hours of playtime.Ĭlick to shrink. As someone that did not have the game on my radar at all and only heard about it recently, I disagree with a lot of what that person said about the game. The important thing is that I'm having fun, and the best reviewer is you. I've run into people enjoying the game, or being blown away by certain aspects of it. That's not to say Zenith is not without issues, I think it could benefit from more enemy diversity, and being a VR MMO it opens itself up to VR exclusive jank. Now if there was unique battle music for something like, world bosses and such, then I think that would make sense. There would be too much back and forth between area music and battle music. You'll be fighting a lot in this game so I don't agree with the notion of having battle music. While I do think the NPC's could be more lively, it's not a deal breaker for me. Quest givers serve their purpose, giving quests. The guy uses a screenshot of Radiant Coast, which is an area in the game I've been to many times, that has high level enemies. I think the music is great, and the "misleading screenshots" are locations I've been to. Sounding somewhat cheeky in certain parts of the video. I watched it, and it sounds like the guy didn't like Zenith right from the get go. It doesn't seem to work without holding the trigger button (so that your swords glow red). The ingame text tutorial only says "block enemy attacks". One question about blocking: I am pretty sure the first tutorial mentioned holding the triggers to block. So don't expect anything on the level of Saints & Sinners. They did a good job at evading those typical VR melee combat traps. But I like that you have to time your attacks instead of just swinging like crazy. There is already some good variation between the big city and the open fields.Ĭombat is fun and can even be a bit exhausting. It's a bit generic but colourful and the surroundings look good. The art style reminds me of early console MMOs like Phantasy Star. The Graphics look better when you are in the game than in trailers (like with most VR games) and everything is pretty smooth so far. No major bugs or annoying stuff like in many other VR games. It's clearly made on a lower budget, but it's - so far - crafted with care and fun to play. But it's in VR and traversal options are great with the climbing (everywhere) and gliding. The game itself so far is your standard MMORPG-fare - go there, read text box, activate this, return, read text box, go there, kill that, collect loot/money/XP. You always come across little groups chatting which each other and explaining stuff. Managed to play for an hour as blade master and it was quite the experience with everyone running around and talking like they are really there. I noticed a chest in the distance and walked everyone too it when another player told me of a hidden chest under water near by, so a group of us followed and also got that chest. But what was fun was having other players come and help out. Once were done I got a lot of experience and some loot but did not check out the loot because I got booted as mentioned above. I also did a world event with a group of people. I was able to level up to 5 and get another spell for my character. Was playing fine, then my dog needed to be let out.it took me less than a minute of having my headset off and the game booted me for inactivity and since then have not been able to log back in. I also notice you can't create another character which seems odd for a MMO.īut I was able to get in and play another 30 minutes when another irritating issue occurred. I could not remember the name of the server, but you would think when the server list comes up that there is icon or something that says/shows you have a character on that server.or just show your server. Was able to get back in, but they really need to work on letting you log back into the server you created a character on.
